StoryFit Paves the Way For Future Film Innovation
StoryFit was recognized in the top 10 most innovative startups at the European Film Market’s 2020 Berlinale Awards. The International commission honors a select group of tech startups who offer cutting edge resources and products for the broader film and entertainment industry.
Each year at the Berlin Film Festival, the European Film Market (EFM) selects 10 industry leaders in the tech startup world to be honored in one of the biggest hubs for technology innovation – Berlin.
Along with this prestigious award, honorees are connected with dozens of resources within EFM, composed of various film and media suppliers, researchers, and entrepreneurs.
EFM works to actively acknowledge the rapidly changing film landscape and with it recognize the select few who have become champions of innovation and transformation. Startups like StoryFit have the capabilities necessary to, as EFM states, “anticipate trends and develop solutions that work across an evolving landscape.”
Since its founding in 2015, EFM has been able to recognize over 50 startups in the space. Once recognized, these startups are invited to meet with other industry professionals who have the skills and resources to provide heightened visibility.
In addition to receiving this distinguished honor, StoryFit was invited to present as an Expert Speaker to an audience of international film and media key players at the European Film Market Horizon conference following the ceremony.
Taking place over the course of five days parallel to the Berlinale, EFM Horizon serves as a compass for new strategies and sustainable business and financing models driven by new technology.
CEO, Monica Landers, shared StoryFit’s vision for how AI can serve and inform the future of inclusive entertainment and why this kind of data is paving the way for new technology.
One of the major benefits of attending the EFM conference is also getting the opportunity to connect with other industry leaders.
While attending, StoryFit had the chance to meet with AfroLandTV, a Black owned and operated media group focusing on cultivating and sharing inspirational Pan African stories with the world.
Their groundbreaking work has placed them at the center of online streaming for many African countries, and their content library includes African, African American, Black European and Afro-Latino stories, an equivalent streaming service to Netflix or Disney+ for Africa.
StoryFit hopes to continue their international film and media connections following EFM, as the landscape for storytelling becomes more refined and dependent upon the sharing of unique and diverse perspectives.
